April Prothero is the founder of Going GreenHouse and a proud Chandler, AZ native. With a background as a retirement plan administrator, cocktail waitress, and even a Sears Portrait Studio photographer, she’s no stranger to hard work and human connection. In 2010, she launched Going GreenHouse with one mission in mind: to create a non-toxic, professional cleaning service that cares deeply for both people and the planet.
Known by friends as loyal, funny, and laid-back. April’s go-to cleaning soundtrack? Anything Macklemore. She can’t-miss cleaning detail like Anything that can shine—think stainless steel, faucets, and fixtures. If her personality were a product, she’d be a stainless steel cleaner: all about making her surroundings bright and shiny. And if she’s treating herself after a long day, it’s 100% a green chile burrito smothered in green sauce, cheese, and sour cream from Espo’s in Chandler.
At home, April shares her life with her partner of five years, Chad, and their fur baby 4-year-old dachshund, Pepper. Her partner Chad has a son, Zachary, who’s currently studying to become a pharmacist. When she’s not running the business or jamming out mid-clean, April’s learning to play piano, nurturing her growing plant collection (succulents first, new species now—wish her luck!), or enjoying the perfect weekend: no plans, sleeping in, brunching with Chad or girlfriends, hiking, thrifting, and catching the sunset.
April is incredibly proud of the Going GreenHouse team, describing them as passionate, tight-knit, and genuinely committed to transforming homes from drab to fab. Her favorite part of the job is working alongside a crew that truly cares about the difference they’re making. And when it comes to eco-friendly cleaning, it’s more than a preference—it’s a necessity. As someone with asthma, April relies on non-toxic products to keep her own home safe for herself, Chad, and Pepper—and she’s passionate about giving other families that same peace of mind.
